The collection of funds is essential
for the maintenance and development of the Order’s activities.
In Western Europe, some institutions and programmes of a medico-social character are subsidised by public social-welfare agencies.
The donations coming from members or outside persons contribute towards the implementation of numerous programmes, often decisively.
The Order’s activities are financed by the national Priories and Associations; they are also facilitated by public grants, government participation, private donations and donations coming from foundations.
The private donations coming from members or outside persons permit various Order organizations to respond in a rapid and effective manner to crisis situations as well as to continually changing requirements.
